1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your download of, access to, and use of the RouteBraid application and the local-planning, account, cloud synchronization, profile, collaboration, map, and paid features RouteBraid makes available (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or creating or accepting a collaboration invitation, you agree to these Terms. The RouteBraid Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled.

If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Store or device-platform terms may also apply, and those terms control where they cannot legally be displaced by these Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use RouteBraid. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms for you and must authorize any purchase. You represent that you have legal capacity to enter into these Terms and are not prohibited from using the Service under applicable law.

RouteBraid is intended for personal travel planning. If you use it for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" includes that organization.

3. Local planning and optional accounts

RouteBraid is local-first. Core itinerary planning and local backup can be used without an account. Account-based features, including cloud synchronization, profiles, collaboration, purchase restoration, and account-bound Pro access, require a supported sign-in method and may require an internet connection.

Local and cloud copies can differ until you deliberately synchronize them. You are responsible for reviewing sync previews, conflict warnings, imports, restores, and exports before confirming them and for maintaining an independent copy of information you cannot afford to lose.

4. License to use RouteBraid

Subject to these Terms, RouteBraid grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use the Service on devices you own or control for lawful personal travel planning. This license does not transfer ownership of the Service.

You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense, distribute, reverse engineer, defeat access or usage controls, extract source code except where applicable law expressly permits it, use the Service to build a competing dataset or service, or use RouteBraid branding without written permission.

5. Accounts and account security

You are responsible for activity under your RouteBraid account and for protecting your device and sign-in-provider account. You must provide accurate information, keep it reasonably current, and promptly contact RouteBraid if you believe your account or an invitation code has been compromised.

RouteBraid currently uses supported third-party identity providers rather than receiving their passwords. Your relationship with a sign-in provider remains governed by that provider's terms. Do not share authentication tokens, attempt to access another person's account, or create accounts through deceptive or automated means.

6. Your content and permissions

"User Content" includes trip names, dates, destinations, saved places, coordinates, lodging, reservations, notes, travel preferences, profile information and photos, invitation reports, and other information you enter, import, synchronize, or share. You retain ownership of your User Content and are responsible for its accuracy, legality, and the rights and permissions needed to use it.

You grant RouteBraid a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, transmit, format, and process User Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, and improve the features you request, comply with law, and enforce these Terms. This license ends when the applicable content is deleted from active systems, subject to reasonable backup, security, dispute, and legal-retention periods.

You must not enter another person's sensitive information, home address, passport details, reservation codes, or location information without a legitimate purpose and appropriate permission. Avoid placing secrets or information you would not want a collaborator or service provider to receive in trip notes, search queries, or route requests.

7. Collaboration and invitations

Collaboration is deliberate and trip-specific. A trip owner controls invitations and member roles. Depending on their role, collaborators may view or change shared itinerary information. Owners may remove members; members may leave; users may block or report another account where those controls are offered.

You are responsible for inviting only intended recipients and for verifying the trip, owner, role, and expiry shown before accepting an invitation. Anyone who receives a valid invitation code may be able to use it until it expires, is revoked, or reaches its use limit. Removing access cannot recall screenshots, exports, local caches, or copies a former member already obtained.

RouteBraid may restrict or disable invitations, shared trips, content, or accounts to protect users, enforce these Terms, investigate reports, or comply with law. RouteBraid is not obligated to mediate personal disputes between travelers.

8. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to:

• violate law, infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights, or facilitate fraud;
• threaten, harass, stalk, exploit, impersonate, or endanger another person;
• distribute malware, spam, abusive invitations, or unlawful or deceptive content;
• scrape profiles, map data, or service responses, use automated access without permission, or exceed provider limits;
• probe, bypass, overload, disrupt, or interfere with security, authorization, rate limits, servers, or other users;
• use collaboration or location information to monitor someone without their knowledge and permission; or
• misrepresent RouteBraid output as official travel, emergency, safety, accessibility, legal, immigration, medical, or financial advice.

9. Maps, imports, exports, and third-party services

RouteBraid uses or hands information to third-party services depending on the feature, including Supabase, Google, Apple, RevenueCat, OpenStreetMap Foundation services, Nominatim, and FOSSGIS routing. Third-party content and services are governed by their own terms, privacy policies, licenses, availability, quotas, and geographic coverage. RouteBraid does not control them and does not guarantee continued access.

Map tiles, place results, routes, venue details, hours, transit information, and imported links may be incomplete, outdated, inaccurate, unavailable, or matched to the wrong place. You must review imported coordinates and outbound directions before relying on them. OpenStreetMap-based data remains subject to its required attribution and license terms.

When you import, share, or open a Google Maps or Apple Maps link, the destination provider may receive the places, coordinates, labels, route, and connection information included in the request. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to import or share a list or link.

10. Travel and safety disclaimer

RouteBraid is a planning aid, not an emergency service, travel agent, common carrier, booking service, official map authority, or turn-by-turn navigation system. Route order, travel time, distance, savings, opening hours, reservations, transit, accessibility, border, weather, safety, and availability information can change or be estimated.

Always confirm critical details with official transportation providers, venues, accommodation providers, government authorities, and a live navigation service. Follow posted signs and local laws. Use judgment about terrain, traffic, weather, accessibility, personal safety, and whether a route is suitable. Never interact with RouteBraid while driving or in another situation requiring your full attention. RouteBraid cannot contact emergency services for you.

11. RouteBraid Pro and subscriptions

Some features may require RouteBraid Pro. The purchase screen and applicable app store show the current subscription name, included benefits, billing period, localized price, taxes where applicable, trial or introductory terms if offered, and renewal information before you confirm a purchase. Store-displayed information controls if it conflicts with marketing or other descriptive copy.

Subscriptions are processed by the applicable store and managed through the store account used to purchase them. Unless the store describes a plan as non-renewing, a subscription automatically renews until canceled under the store's rules. You can manage or cancel through Google Play or your Apple account. Cancel before the store's stated renewal deadline to avoid the next charge. Deleting RouteBraid, uninstalling the app, signing out, or deleting a RouteBraid cloud account does not cancel a store subscription.

Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid billing period, subject to store rules and applicable law. Refunds, billing disputes, trials, price changes, grace periods, pauses, and payment failures are governed by the store's policies and applicable law. Contact RouteBraid for help with access, but payment-card details remain with the store.

Pro access is determined by the active entitlement associated with the relevant RouteBraid account and store purchase record. Use the correct RouteBraid and store accounts when purchasing or restoring. Separate RouteBraid accounts may not automatically share access. Test builds may use RevenueCat's Test Store and clearly identified simulated purchases that do not create a real store subscription.

RouteBraid may change the mix of free and paid features prospectively, but will not knowingly deprive you of access already owed for a paid period except where required for security, law, store action, misuse, or circumstances outside reasonable control. Subscriptions are intended to provide ongoing value; individual beta features can change, be delayed, or be discontinued.

12. RouteBraid intellectual property and feedback

The Service, including its software, interface, visual design, documentation, and RouteBraid name and branding, is owned by RouteBraid or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party names, map data, software, and content remain the property of their respective owners.

If you voluntarily send ideas or feedback, you grant RouteBraid a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation, provided RouteBraid does not identify you publicly without permission.

13. Beta features and Service changes

Beta, preview, and test features may be incomplete, change without notice, contain defects, or lose or reset test data. Do not rely on a beta feature for urgent, safety-critical, or irreplaceable information. RouteBraid may add, change, suspend, limit, or discontinue features and may impose reasonable technical limits to protect reliability, cost, licensing, and security.

Updates may be required for security, store compatibility, provider changes, or continued cloud access. RouteBraid does not promise that every feature will be available on every platform, device, country, or network.

14. Suspension, termination, and deletion

You may stop using RouteBraid at any time. You may delete local trips and backups using available controls and may delete a cloud account through the in-app account settings. Cloud-account deletion does not automatically delete local trips on your device and does not cancel an external subscription.

RouteBraid may suspend or terminate cloud, collaboration, or paid-feature access if you materially or repeatedly violate these Terms, create a security or safety risk, fail to pay through the store, or if required by law or a provider. Where practical and lawful, RouteBraid will use reasonable efforts to provide notice or an opportunity to correct the issue. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms, will survive.

15. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." RouteBraid disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. RouteBraid does not warrant that routes, estimates, sync, collaboration, imports, exports, backups, third-party services, or paid features will always be correct, secure, available, or free from loss.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, remedy, or right that applicable law does not allow you to waive.

16. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RouteBraid and its suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, missed reservations or transportation, travel disruption, personal decisions based on estimates, or inability to use the Service, even if advised that such loss was possible.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RouteBraid's aggregate liability arising from the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for RouteBraid during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD $100. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including any non-waivable consumer rights.

17. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold RouteBraid harmless from third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful User Content, your misuse of collaboration or invitations, or your material violation of these Terms or another person's rights. This section does not require you to indemnify RouteBraid for RouteBraid's own unlawful conduct.

18. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any mandatory consumer forum rights, disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in a state or federal court with jurisdiction in New Hampshire, and you and RouteBraid consent to those courts.

Before filing a claim, please send a description of the dispute and requested resolution to RouteBraid@gmail.com and allow 30 days for an informal response. This does not prevent either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief, using an eligible small-claims process, or exercising a non-waivable statutory right. Consumers outside New Hampshire retain mandatory protections and forums provided by the law where they live.

19. Changes to these Terms

RouteBraid may update these Terms to reflect feature, provider, security, legal, or business changes. The updated document will show a new effective date. Material changes may be presented in-app and may require renewed acceptance before account, collaboration, or paid features can be used. Changes apply prospectively unless law requires otherwise. Continuing to use the affected Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

20. General terms

If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions remain effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without RouteBraid's consent; RouteBraid may assign them as part of a reorganization, financing, merger, acquisition, or transfer of the Service, subject to applicable law. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and purchase terms shown by the store form the entire agreement about the Service and supersede prior statements on the same subject.
